John Mguinness MBE
John McGuinness MBE nicknamed "The Morecambe Missile" for his speed and being born from the seaside town of Morecambe in 1972. McGuinness started his circuit racing in 1990 and is still racing today at 53 years old. John being most famous for his incredible success at Road Racing, especially the Isle of Man TT. Where he is the third most successful rider with 23 TT Wins, with the most Superbike and Senior Wins and being the first lap at an average speed of over “130mph” in 2007. John has also had major success at other road races such as: North West 200, Macau GP, Ulster GP and at Scarborough Oliver’s Mount.
McGuinness also has had a great short circuit career with him winning the British 250cc Championship in 1999 and multiple British Championship level wins and podiums throughout the years. John also competing in world championship level events such as: 500cc GP’s, 250cc GP’s, World SuperSport and the Endurance World Championship.
John McGuinness career has mainly been on Honda Machinary and is still a Factory Honda rider for the 2026 season. John was awarded with an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2021 for Services to Motorcycle Racing. He has always said he’s done well for a “Bricklayer from Morecambe”, Bricklaying being the trade he trained in the 80’s for.
